The “Saturday Night Live” star, 34, showed support for the actress, 31, after she blasted the sketch comedy show for mocking her in their “The White Lotus” parody last weekend.

“However she reacted to that sketch is completely valid,” Yang said in a recent interview with “Extra.” He added, “With parody, you kind of forget the sort of human, emotional cost that it sort of extols on someone.”

“Everyone at ‘SNL’ is just a fan of the show, obviously a fan of her,” Yang continued. “We just think that she should be so proud of the work that she put into the season, it was just water cooler television again that we desperately have a craving for.”

In the “White Potus” sketch, Sarah Sherman wore prosthetic teeth to portray Wood’s “White Lotus” character, Chelsea.

Wood called the parody “mean and unfunny” and argued it could’ve been done in “a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way.”

Yang, who didn’t appear in the April 12 skit, went on to say, “I feel like it’s this thing that we tend to forget sometimes and this is a reminder and it seems like she has spoken to people at the show about it and hopefully there’s room to sort of move on from it.”

“But yeah, you need those reminders every now and then that parody can go too far sometimes and that we, as comedians, can take account for that instead of banging our foot and saying that we should be able to say whatever we want,” he told “Extra.” “That’s just culture, it’s not PC or woke culture, it’s just culture.”

After calling out “SNL” on social media, Wood claimed that she’s “had apologies” from the NBC show.

The British actress later defended Sherman, 32, from the backlash and also posted a picture of a floral bouquet that the comedian sent her. “Thank you for the beautiful flowers,” Wood captioned her post while tagging Sherman.

However, TMZ reported last week that the show still hasn’t formally apologized to Wood.

Sources claimed “SNL” doesn’t “feel compelled to apologize” to Wood since the sketch comedy series “makes fun of everyone’s appearance.” The insiders added that everyone on the show’s set loves Wood and the parody of her came “from a good place.”

On Monday, photos emerged showing Wood sobbing in South London. She was comforted by “House of the Dragon” actor Ralph Davis.

But the “Sex Education” actress addressed the pictures on Instagram and explained her tears weren’t about the “SNL” drama while replying to a fan who slammed the show for seemingly causing her to break down.

“Just to say, I actually wasn’t crying about anything that the papers made out I was crying about 😂Something completely unrelated,” Wood wrote.
