Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom split, end 6-year engagement: report

They’re hot, then they’re cold.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have reportedly ended their longtime engagement following rumors their relationship was on the rocks.
“Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,” a source close to the former couple told Us Weekly on Wednesday, June 25. “It’s not contentious at the moment.”
The insider claimed the breakup was “a long time coming,” noting things between them “have been tense for months.”
While they say Perry “is of course upset,” the source said she’s “relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.” The pop star was married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012.
The insider shared that Perry has been “keeping busy” with her Lifetimes tour “and is distracted” amid the breakup.
They also claim she’s been “renting out” the estate she won in her court war against veteran Carl Westcott in Montecito, Calif.
“But her and Orlando have always lived in their other Montecito home as their primary residence,” the source shared, adding the duo were “planning on making the Westcott home their family home but plans have changed.”
They noted that Perry and Orlando “have been living apart since Katy has been on tour.” However, the actor was just spotted Down Under over the weekend with their four-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove. He’s also set to attend Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s multimillion-dollar wedding ceremony solo.
The Post reached out to their reps for comment.
Earlier this month, sources told Page Six that Perry and Bloom were “waiting till her tour is over before they split.”
The “Fireworks” hitmaker has been on tour since April 23 and is scheduled to end in December.
Other sources also noted problems between the two, claiming their relationship started unraveling with Perry’s poorly received “143” album when it was released in September.
“Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” a source told People this month. “It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”
“She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews,” they added. “It’s put stress on their relationship.”
Insiders pointed out that the “I Kissed a Girl” pop star and “The Lord of the Rings” actor hadn’t set a wedding date despite being engaged for 6 years.
“[Perry and Bloom] never set a date for the wedding or got around to planning anything and Orlando is over it,” a source told Us Weekly.
The pair were first linked in 2016. After a brief split in March 2017, they rekindled their romance in February 2018.
Bloom popped the question on Valentine’s Day in February 2019, with the couple announcing they were expecting their first child in March 2020.
Perry gave birth to Daisy months later, on August 26.
In 2024, the Grammy-nominated artist got candid about their 2017 breakup on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
“We weren’t really in it from day one,” Perry admitted. “He was in a way because he had just done a time of celibacy and he had set intentions.”
“I was fresh out of a relationship,” she added, “and I was just like, ‘I can’t do this anymore. I need to swim in a different pond.’”
Perry wasn’t the only one in the relationship who went through a divorce.
Bloom married Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr in 2010. The pair divorced in 2013 and share one child, son Flynn, 13.
